Battlefield 6's Game of the Year Edition: What's in the Box

What's New

EA announced a Game of the Year Edition of Battlefield 6 on 13 October. It's the full game plus a bundle of extras:

  • Ultimate Shortcut Kit: shortcut kits for all four classes (EA's "fastest way to unlock and progress your loadout"), plus the "Mortal Shriek" dog tag and the "Field Training: Cross Trained" title.
  • Battlefield Pro: one BF Pro Token, redeemable in any season. It gives you that season's Battle Pass, 25 tier skips, a +5% XP booster and exclusive rewards.
  • Featured unlocks: the "Trusted Reserve" Pax Armata soldier skin, plus the Phantom Pack: 4 soldier skins, 2 weapon packages, and career and hardware XP boosts.

The base game is the same. EA counts 70+ weapons and, as of 5 October, more than 700,000 player-made Portal experiences.

What It Means for Players

If you already own Battlefield 6, there's nothing new to play here. This edition is for newcomers who'd rather not start at the bottom of the unlock tree. If you're coming in late and want to skip the grind, it's the easiest way to catch up with players who've been at it since launch.

As always with EA, the game also sells virtual currency in-game. Since you can redeem the Pro token in any season, you don't have to spend it the day you buy.

The Closing Line

"Game of the Year Edition": because "Same Game, More Hats Edition" didn't test as well.
