Battlefield 6 REDSEC Season 5: Vegas, Area 51 and Rapid Royale
What's New
Battlefield 6's REDSEC Season 5 (announced 13 October) takes the war to Nevada.
Vegas Strip
A new map with long sightlines and big vehicle fights, set among the Strip's fountains and casinos. You can zipline from a rooftop into a hotel tower, or drop into the storm drains for close-quarters fighting.
Area 51
The secret base has been breached. Up top, jets, helicopters and tanks fight over open desert. Underneath, a fresh crater leads into tunnels built for close combat. You can also flip dirt bikes off hills, and bring down the Air Traffic Control tower, a levolution moment that changes the map.
Rapid Royale
A new REDSEC battle royale mode built for speed: fewer players, kills that earn redeploys, airdrops with the best loot in the game, and the fastest ring of fire yet, spread across several maps.
Four new weapons
- Mk 24: an assault rifle that's deadlier at range but has a small magazine.
- RSPR: a compact PDW firing a rifle cartridge. It hits hard and reaches further than most PDWs, with more recoil to fight.
- Z84M: a belt-fed light machine gun with 100 rounds, mobile enough for close range.
- ELR-40: a bolt-action sniper rifle with a long sweet spot, plus a single-shot mode that pulls the sweet spot closer.
What It Means for Players
That's two big maps aimed at opposite play styles, and a battle royale mode that punishes camping. If your usual plan is "lie in a bush until the final circle", Rapid Royale has some bad news for you.
The Closing Line
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Your K/D ratio, unfortunately, goes everywhere.
